Abstract

1,030,697. Hose couplings. N. J. MUSCHAMP & CO. Ltd. Oct. 3, 1962 [Oct. 3, 1961], No. 35694/61. Heading F2G. A fluid pipe end connection comprises a female element 3, exteriorly fitting the pipe 2 and screw-threadedly engaging a sleeve 4 partly located within the pipe, and a male screw element 5 mounted in rotational and sealed manner on the sleeve for fitment to a valve body or the like. The element 3, which is internally threaded for the purpose, is screwed on the outside of the end of the flexible pipe 2. The male element 5 is mounted on the sleeve 4, at the end of which is a head 4c behind which is a sealing ring 8. The element 3 has a threaded base 3b into which a thread on the sleeve 4 screws, a tool being applied to the head 4c to screw in the sleeve until the elements 3, 5 are close together, the end of the sleeve 4 then projecting into the pipe 2. The element 5, which is free to rotate on the sleeve 4, is then screwed into the valve body 1. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the parts 3, 5 are kept apart by an annular rib on the sleeve.
