Abstract

103,066. Cusack, T. June 1, 1916. Atmospheric gas burners.-The nipple consists of a perforated disk J, Fig. 2, secured between the ends of the mixing-tube A<2> and the gaspipe A<1> by an internally screwed sleeve G engaging the mixing-tube A<2> and the pipe A<1>, and the rotatably mounted air-regulator consists of a perforated casing formed internally with bent plates, which engage the perforated part of the mixing-tube for about one-half of its circumference. In one form, the air-regulator comprises two cylindrical sections B, C, Fig. 1, secured one within the other by a stud P passing through apertures P', P<2>, one section being perforated at one end, and the other section having parts H<2>, J cut out and bent to form obturators for the air inlets B<1>, B<2>, Fig. 2, of the burner. The regulator is secured between a sliding collar L on the mixing-tube and a milled collar H on the sleeve G. In a modification, the obturators are formed separately as shown at H<2>, J, Fig. 3, and secured within the section C.
