Abstract
1,030,520. Semi-conductor devices. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Nov. 8, 1963 [Nov. 8, 1962], No. 44256/63. Heading H1K. A semi-conductor element 6 is enclosed in a gas-tight housing consisting of a dished member 8 and a base-plate formed by an electricallyinsulating bushing comprising an inner metal body 1 encircled by an insulating body 2 (which may be of glass) and an outer ring-shaped metal body 3, the semi-conductor element 6 being encircled by a resilient insulating sleeve 4. The element 6 lies between a metal pressure body 7 and a plate 5 of ductile material, such as silver, which is in contact with the inner metal body 1. This inner metal body may be made of an iron-nickel-cobalt alloy or of a good thermal conductor, such as copper, surrounded by a sleeve of iron-nickel-cobalt alloy. The dished member 8 may be of silver or may consist of a number of successive layers to provide imperviousness to various gases. The housing may be filled with an inert gas.
