Abstract

1,028,700. Linkwork. C. VAN DER LEYL N.V. Aug. 16, 1963 [Sept. 4, 1962], No. 32586/63. Heading F2K. [Also in Division A1] Linkwork, for converting the rotary motion of a continuously driven shaft 136 into the reciprocatory motion of a pitman 152, includes a head 139 secured to the shaft and having an eccentric aperture 141 which accommodates a bearing 149. A Y-shaped member 146 terminates in bearings 145 in two of its arms and has a spigot 148 received within the bearing 149. A T-shaped member 143 is connected by a ball-joint 151 to the pitman 152 and its two remaining limbs are received within the bearings 145. Only the horizontal component of the circular motion of the head 139 is transmitted to the pitman 152, through the members 146, 143. The pitman drives the cutter 26 of a mowing machine (see also Division A1).
