[Also in Division G4] In a system whereby a transmitter can call any one of a number of receivers, each receiver responds to a particular calling signal which is constituted by frequency bursts which may have different durations and time spacings and each of which comprises two frequencies of constant difference. In a single side-band suppressed carrier system the parameters of the carrier generated at the receivers need not be rigidly defined since deviation of the carrier will effect equally both frequencies of a received calling signal so that the frequency difference is unaffected.
