In a repeater for frequency-modulated radio signals the incoming signal f 1 with a deviation Œ#f 1 is converted to an intermediate frequency f 2 with the same deviation and supplied via a limiter to a binary counter acting as a frequency divider dividing by n. The output from the divider is mixed with a frequency f 3 from a local oscillator and the sum is multiplied by n giving a signal f 2 + nf 3 Œ #f 1 = f 4 for retransmission.
