Abstract

1,027,383. Baling presses. MINISTERUL INDUSTRIEI PETROLULUI SI CHIMIEI. April 4, 1963 [April 11, 1962], No. 13305/63. Heading B5F. In a process of forming bales from reeds, the reeds are collected together to form sheaves of truncated conical form, a plurality of sheaves are assembled together with the narrow end of one sheaf adjacent the wider end of the adjacent sheaf, so that the assembled sheaves form a substantially cylindrical bundle, and the bundle is compressed and bound. A device for compressing the bundle is seen in Figs. 1, 2 (not shown) and comprises a pair of wires 6, each wire being coupled at its ends by a hook 8. The wire 6 passes over pulleys 4, 5 and is tightened by an hydraulic ram 3. Spools 9 of binding wire are provided.
