Abstract

1,027,205. Bearings. IDEAL CASEMENTS (READING) Ltd. March 2, 1965 [March 18, 1964], No. 11335/64. Heading F2A. [Also in Division E2] A bearing for a pivotal member has a retaining-cap at one end to prevent axial displacement of the member. In an embodiment, a shaft 1 of synthetic plastics material is mounted by means of a screw 9 to a metal window frame, a handle 6 is mounted on the shaft 1 and the handle 6 is retained axially by a cap 2 of synthetic plastics material. The latter has a radially-inwardly directed flange 8 which springs into engagement with a groove 5 in the shaft 1, the end 4 of which is tapered so as to facilitate assembly of the cap; and has a radially-outwardly directed flange which abuts the handle 6.
