Abstract

1,024,944. Knitting. TRIKOTFABRIKEN J. SCHIESSER A.G. Oct. 31, 1962 [Oct. 31, 1961], No. 41147/62. Headings D1C and D1K. At the junction of successive bordered lengths of fabric knitted on a two-bed, e.g. cylinder and dial, knitting machine, after a separating course B is knitted, the stitches of this course are dropped from the needles of one bed e.g. the cylinder and a course is knitted from two threads forming successive groups, each comprising a long stitch knitted on a needle of the other bed and a loop formed on an empty needle of the first bed, a course of short stitches 6 being then knitted through the loops, the stitches 13, 14 of the other bed being held, and an elastic thread 7 being laid in at least partly between the long held stitches 13, 14 and the short stitches 6. The needles of the two beds may be arranged for a 1 x 1 rib, Fig. 2 or a 2 x 2 rib, Fig. 4 (not shown).
