Abstract

1,024,406. Plastics bottles. HOOVER BALL & BEARING CO. Sept. 9, 1964 [March 25, 1964], No. 36940/64. Heading B8D. A bottle moulded in one piece from plastics material is formed on its shoulder with an integral hand grip 34, 36, Fig. 3 (not shown), which is of elongated shape, enabling the user's fingers to lie on either side of the bottle. The thickness of the bottle wall is greater at the hand grip and immediately below it than over the remainder of the body. The bottle is of square or rectangular horizontal cross-section with radiused corners and has stiffening ribs extending longitudinally. It may be closed by a conventional milk bottle cap; and may be blow-moulded from polyethylene or polypropylene.
