A method of making scissors comprises cutting a series of blanks from a metal sheet, each blank comprising a double blade portion and a finger loop portion at each end. The blanks are cleaned before separation which comprises the steps of shaping the blanks so that the blade portions are joined by a central web and removing the web. The scissors members are then ground, if necessary, pierced and pivotally connected before final finishing.
