Abstract

1,023,858. Fabrics &c. HOVERCRAFT DEVELOPMENT Ltd. Sept. 22, 1964 [Sept. 24, 1963], No. 37608/63. Heading D1K. [Also in Divisions B3 and B7]. A honeycomb fabric which may be used as part of the base of an air cushion vehicle is built from a number of similar parts 1 as shown in Fig. 5 which comprises three web portions 2, heads 4 and recesses 5 the arrangement being such that heads 4 of adjacent parts are located in the recesses 5. Variation of the angle of the ventex 3, shown on Fig. 5 as 120 degrees, and variation of the number of web portions produces variation of the geometric form of the completed structure as seen in Figs. 6, 7, 8 and 10 (not shown). A spring clip 10 (not shown) may be fitted around the vertex to reinforce the joint. In Figs.12-14 (not shown) a slotted tube 11 is provided to reinforce the joints. Lugs at the bases of the recesses 5 or at the tops of the heads 4 may be used to prevent slipping after assembly.
