Abstract
1,023,668. Clocks and watches. G. CEPPI. Nov. 30, 1962 [Jan. 5, 1962], No. 45329/62. Heading G3T. [Also in Division H2] Apparatus adapted for driving a timepiece through a ratchet wheel, comprises a circuit including an electromechanical oscillator or oscillating crystal forming a time base and operating at a high frequency if not less than 1000 c/s, and a fine rod one end of which is secured to the crystal whilst the other end drivingly engages the ratchet wheel. In the embodiment, two quartz crystals 1 and 2 are connected in the input and output circuits of a transistor 3, along with the battery 4 and a resistor 4b. The vibrations maintained in crystal 2 are stated to be transmitted to crystal 1 as a mechanical feedback. The fine 5 rod is glued to a strap 6 secured to the driving crystal 2 which is carried in a support 7 Fig. 3 (not shown). In a modification, a coupling transformer is inserted between the emitter-collector circuit and the crystal 2.
