Abstract

1,022,339. Transformers. WILLEM SMIT & CO's. TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V. Jan. 19, 1965 [Feb. 5, 1964], No. 2363/65. Heading H1T. A large three-phase transportable transformer has one of its core windows wider than the other so that auxiliary apparatus 17, 18 such as a tap-changing switch and a set of choke coils can be mounted outside the wide core window and between the windings 8, 9 which pass through that window. The choke coils may be connected in circuit with a deltaconnected three-phase tertiary winding to reduce short-circuit currents. The transformer tank is filled with insulating fluid. Coolers 5 and fans 4 may be provided between extensions of the tank side walls 2.
