In a harmonic mode transistor oscillator a frequency determining crystal is connected between a tap on the collector tank circuit 1, 2 (not shown), and the emitter, and the tank circuit has a low Q as a result of a relatively low impedance circuit 10 connecting the collector to the collector supply. In the circuit shown the tank circuit is tuned by the capacitance of the transistor.
