Abstract
1,021,605. Filing papers. H. S. HODDING [Natser Corporation]. Nov. 4, 1964, No. 45023/64. Heading B6E. A pile of loose leaves 13 filed on bendable prongs 12 is associated with a fastener comprising an elongated member 14 along which are slidable two elements 17, each element having a hole 22 in an extension 19 thereof through which a prong 12 is threaded, and a tongue 23 beneath which the prong is engaged in a bent condition. The member 14 is of channel form to receive the slidable elements 17. Each element 17 is of channel form comprising a top wall 21 which is provided with a tongue 23 having a tong-retaining lip 24, and a bottom wall 19 which is offset at 19a and provided with two holes 22. In a modification, the member 14 is an elongated strip bent into triangular cross section, and each element 17 is a strip bent into L-shape and fitted within the member 14; a tongue for retaining the prong 12 is struck out of the horizontal extension of the element 17. Where the pile of sheets is to be filed in a binder cover, the member 14 has holes 18a to receive eyelets which secure the member to the binder. The prongs 12 may be of plastics material such as polyethylene, or of metal, and the member 14 and elements 17 are preferably of metal. The device may be attached to a folder by an eyelet passed through one of the apertures 22.
