A domestic dry-cleaning apparatus comprises a cabinet 10 in which articles of clothing are suspended and through which solvent vapour is circulated by a fan in a housing 62 through a pipe 64 and a filter 34 into the cabinet and through an outlet 28 and return pipe 68 to the fan: valves 72 and 74 in the pipe 68 and a vent pipe 70 are closed during cleaning but are opened for drying so that fresh air is circulated through the cabinet to clean it of the solvent vapour. The cabinet is preferably of a pliable material with an access flap 24, Fig. 2 (not shown), closed by a zip fastener 26 and a sealing strip 92. The solvent may be supplied through a nozzle 48 from a plastic bottle 42 which may be squeezed from outside the cabinet. In a modified arrangement the filter is arranged at the bottom of the cabinet and the solvent is supplied through nozzles in the cabinet from a tank underneath when an air pressure supply or air bottle is connected to the tank. During drying, the vapour from the cabinet is first passed through a condenser and the solvent returned to the tank before fresh air is circulated. The apparatus may be controlled by suitable timer devices.
