Abstract

615,855. Drying apparatus. LIENHARD, E. Aug. 15, 1946, No. 24283. [Class 34(ii)] Perforated trays 7, on a rack 6, carrying tea or like material, is subjected to a stream of heated air from fan 12 and main heater 15, which passes from the drier to the wetter trays, and finally through pre-heaters 13, 14 to fan 12 for re-circulation. On leaving heater 15 a required portion of the air is directed by a pivoted door 16, to the driest tray rack at 57 before re-mixing with the main flow. Inlet door 10, and outlet 11 have means operating rotatable shutters 56 and 30 respectively, preventing the tea blowing out when the doors are opened. The quantities of fresh air admitted at 27 and saturated air exhausted at 29 are controlled by shutters, not shown.
