The combustion chamber of an instantaneous water heater of the kind described in Specification 946,765, formed in two identical halves each comprising a front wall and two side walls carrying a serpentine water pipe 27 surmounted by a heat exchanger 33, is heated by at least two identical burner assemblies S1-S3 as claimed in Specification 929,266. Each burner assembly has a plurality of mixing heads secured to a set of burner tubes with orifices each positioned below a different mixing head.
