Abstract

1,019,198. Furnace linings. MORGAN REFRACTORIES Ltd. March 12, 1964 [March 22, 1963], No. 11418/63. Heading F4B. An anchorage assembly for a refractory furnace lining 3, Fig. 1, comprises a refractory anchor body 4, having sides shaped as at 5 to key with said lining and provided with a transverse hole 6 near one end thereof, and a metal link formed of at least two parts, at least one of which is V-shaped, thus providing a pair of substantially parallel limbs, one of which passes through the hole 6 with freedom for relative movement therein while the other passes similarly through a corresponding hole 8 in a bracket 9 on the inside of the furnace casing 1. The metal link may comprise two U-shaped rods 7, Fig. 3 (not shown), held together by a tie 10. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the metal link comprises one long U-shaped rod, the limbs of which pass right through the holes 6 and 8 and are interconnected by a metal keeper plate having holes through which the split ends of said limbs pass, which split ends are subsequently spread.
