Abstract

An eight feeder rotary cylinder circular knitting machine has a thread introducing ring with cut-outs or gaps allocated one to each of the individual sets of thread guides, the throughway axes of which gaps are inclined in the direction of rotation of the needles at an acute angle and with respect to the needle circle. Ground thread and reinforcing thread may be fed by movable yarn guides at each feeding station and the ends of such yarns may be clamped by a pneumatic suction tube Fig. 4 (not shown). The notches as seen in Fig. 3 (not shown) have the corners rounded off and this with the slope of the gaps closes any partially opened latches and prevents breakage.
