Abstract

1,018,066. Clips; stud and socket fastenings. UNITED-CARR Inc. Aug. 28, 1963 [Sept. 12, 1962], No. 34127/63. Heading E2B. A fastener device, made from sheet metal, for assembly on a stud 25 projecting from an article 24 to secure the latter to an apertured support 31, comprises a band-like portion 11 adapted to embrace a portion of the stud at a position spaced from the article, a plurality of resilient legs 14, 15 and 16 extending in spaced parallel relation to the axis of the device and having one end intergrally connected with one edge of the band-like portion, the free ends of the legs facing away from the band-like portion, each leg being bent to provide an outwardly projecting shoulder 32 for snapping engagement through an aperture 30 in the support, and at least one of the legs being formed with projecting barbs 17, the legs being adapted to be flexed inwardly when the fastener device is in assembled relation in the aperture in the support so that the barbs are forced to dig into the surface of the stud 25.
