Abstract

546.146. Fastenings. TINNERMAN PRODUCTS, Inc. Dec. 28, 1940, No. 18180. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1939. [Class 44] A device for securing a knob 11 or other article having a stem such as 10 in an apertured support 12 comprises a longitudinally split resilient sleeve 15 having longitudinal ribs 18 with lozengeshaped, triangular, or D-form openings 17 the edges of which snap into engagement with the edges of the aperture in the support at opposite faces of the support when the sleeve is inserted in the aperture. The stem 10 is inserted in the sleeve and is retained, against withdrawal by inturned corners 25, 26 and an indent 24 which grip the stem. A form of sleeve is described having an outwardly turned flange at its outer end and the Specification shows sleeves of circular, triangular, rectangular, and D crosssections. The subject-matter of Specification 541,908 is disclaimed.
