Abstract

101,745. Gane, J. Feb. 3, 1916. Razors, safety. A safety razor comprises two blades a, b, which have reinforcing-backs c and are carried on the opposite faces of a frame d formed with comb teeth c, a handle, or a tang pivoted in ordinary handle members, being provided, extending longitudinally from the body or frame d. The end teeth of the comb are hooked to engage the blade edges, and the blades may be held in place by clamping-plates j pivoted on a spindle h supported by lugs g at the ends of the frame d, a coiled spring on the spindle being adapted to bear against tongues m on the plates. The handle may be wholly or partly of polygonal cress-section, and may be screwed into one of the lugs g or secured by a spring catch, &c. The frame d is cut away at its ends for easy removal of the blades. The razor facilitates the shaving of either side of the face with a diagonal cutting action.
