Abstract
1,017,420. Dynamo-electric machines. SOC. D'ELECTRONIQUE ET D'AUTOMATISME. Aug. 17, 1964 [Aug. 21, 1963], No. 33588/64. Heading H2A. A dynamo-electric machine has a Gramme armature which comprises a magnetic ring core 1 having at least one flat ring 4, 5 extending perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the core, the core and ring having insulating surfaces over which adhere conductive coatings forming respectively a closed helical winding 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 19 and commutator blades 13, 18 equal in number to that of the winding turns; field magnets 24, 28 at least partly enclosing the core; and brushes 23 bearing against the commutator blades. The core and ring may be either an integral structure of insulating material or, as shown, a conductive core sheathed by insulating half-shells 2, 3 or a thermosetting or thermopolymerizable moulding which form the ring 4, 5. The winding and blades may be printed, with metallized hole through-connections 21, 22. The commutator and ring 4, 5 may be inside the core, as shown, or outside, and the magnets 24, 25 may be split, as shown, or alternatively positioned at the sides of the core.
