Abstract

1,017,224. Distributing granular material. AVELING-BARFORD Ltd. Aug. 7, 1964 [Aug. 7, 1963], No. 31146/63. Heading A1D. A distributer for granular material comprises a hopper 10 provided with a slot through which material passes to a feed member which is provided with radially projecting pins and which is driven by a hydraulic motor 21, the speed of which may be varied. As shown the distributer is attached to the front of a road roller 14 from which hydraulic fluid is supplied to the motor 21 which may be directly coupled to the member or may be coupled by worm gearing. The speed of the motor 21 is adjusted by means of a by-pass control or diverter valve 27 which is manually adjustable. A throttle valve 28 is provided and is actuated by a hand lever 28.
