Abstract

1,017,018. Cupola furnaces. STRICO GES. FUR METALLURGIE UND WARMETECHNIK. May 20, 1964 [June 7, 1963], No. 20745/64. Heading F4B. A cupola furnace is provided with a ring pipe 5 with nozzles 6 for reintroducing dust-free exhaust gas into the shaft at a point between the gas offtake 2 and the top of the burden. The furnace is also provided with level detectors 7 to ensure that the level of the top of the burden does not fall below a minimum level. The dust-free exhaust gas may be reintroduced at a level above the offtake and between the charging opening and the top of the burden.
