Connexions for steampipe mains fitted to decks, bulkheads, &c. for fire-extinguishing.- Connexions to which steam-pipe unions are attached for extinguishing fires in ships' holds are each formed of a circular wooden plug 2 fitted into a hole in the deck, bulkhead, &c. and carrying a pipe 3 having a threaded outer end 4. A ring 9 secures the pipe 3 in the plug 2.
