[Also in Division F4] A screw feed conveyer f feeding solid fuel to a furnace has a flap valve a mounted in a compressed air supply pipe b attached to the conveyer tube e which flap actuates the contact member g of a switch h when there is no fuel in the said tube e thus stopping the screw feed drive and/or the compressed air generator. The valve is provided with a small leak so that it remains in the down position when there is fuel in the tube e.
