Abstract

1,014,950. Tube mills. VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELJSKY INSTITUTE NOVYKH STROITELJNYKH MATERIALOV. May 1, 1964, No. 18140/64. Heading B2A. [Also in Division F2] A vibratory tube mill includes chambers 1, 2 with changing inlets 14 and discharging hatches 15, vibrated by an inertia mechanism (see Division F2). Each discharging hatch comprising an internal box within an outer box, the side walls and bottom of the boxes forming a space to direct material towards an outlet branch pipe 17 mounted on the outer box, the side walls and bottom of the internal box having windows the size of which is adjusted by shutters 18, 19. As described, the shutters 18 comprise rectangular plates and the shutter 19 is a perforated swivel disc which changes the size of the outlet port. An inspection cover 21 on the rear of the box permits cleaning of a discharging grate 20 without affecting the adjustment of the shutters 18. When the mill is stopped a clutch disconnects the driving motor (not shown) from the mill shaft, while it is still running at about the speed causing oscillation of the mill at its natural frequency, and a brake is simultaneously applied, so that there is reduction in the resonance amplitude of the mill.
