Abstract

A liquid oxygen converter system for supplying the passengers and crew of an aircraft, as claimed in the parent Specification, is modified in that the multiport changeover valve is operative when the level of oxygen in the storage vessel falls below a predetermined level to connect the build-up circuit to the line still supplying the crew is a twopositioned valve having three ports 25, 26, 27. When the oxygen is the vessel is above the predetermined level oxygen flows from the bottom of the vessel to the crew through a line (not shown) having a branch line 30 connected to the port 26 where it acts on a bellows 106 to maintain a valve member 105 in a position which interconnects ports 25, 27. Oxygen is therefore also supplied to the passengers, through a line 23 connected to the buildup circuit and to a high level outlet from the vessel. When the oxygen level falls below the high level outlet, the build-up circuit no longer receives oxygen from the line 23 and its pressure falls. The pressure in the port 26 consequently falls and the valve member 105 is moved by a spring 107 to the position shown, wherein oxygen from the port 26 re-pressurizes the build-up circuit and the supply to the passengers though the line 17 is cut off.
