Abstract

1,013,047. Carrying conductors through partitions. A. GROSSAUER. Dec. 21, 1962, No. 48401/62. Heading H2E. [Also in Division E2] A device for sealing one or more conductors during their passage through a wall consists of a sleeve 1 screwed into the wall and carrying a toothed resilient locking disc 2 and an apertured elastomeric sealing disc 4. The cable is inserted in the direction of the arrow and any attempt to withdraw it in the opposite direction is resisted by the teeth 8 which " bite " the cable exterior, this action of the teeth being reinforced by the pressure on them of the sealing disc. To withdraw the cable in the opposite direction to the arrow a release sleeve 3 is pressed against the locking disc 2 thus raising the teeth 8 out of contact with the cable surface. Locking disc 2 consists of electrically insulating material. Sealing disc 4 consists of elastic material, i.e. rubber or plastic, and is situated directly upon the locking disc. More than one pair of discs 2 and 4 may be used and any pair may have more than one aperture for the passage of several cables or conductors.
