Abstract

1,012,742. Braid. T. B. CLERK. Aug. 31, 1962, No. 33610/62. Heading D1K. A braided cord, rope or line capable of being spliced comprises a braided core 11 of nylon filaments or of filaments having similar characteristics to nylon and a braided cover 12 of polyester filaments, the cover 12 being of a tighter braid than the core 11. The filaments are selected such that the elongation of the core filaments is greater than that of the cover filaments and the core and cover have pick ratios respectively in the ranges 6 to 8 and 2. 7 to 5.
