Abstract

1,012,426. Glazing vehicle windows K. R. MULLER, April 24, 1964 [April 25, 1963], No. 17158/64. Heading E1R. A rubber or like glazing strip with a groove 6 or other means for attaching to the flange 4 surrounding a window opening of a vehicle body and a groove 8 for receiving the edge portion of the pane 1 is provided with a separation zone 5 to provide for separation from the remainder of the strip. The separation zone is provided by a series of perforations 13, Fig. 2, or by reducing the thickness of the rubber in this zone between the edge of the pane 9 and the flange 4 or the thickness of the rubber over the top of the flange 4 so that the portion 5 may be easily separated from the remainder of the strip and its displacement with the pane 9 from inside the vehicle. The zone of separation may comprise a zip fastener 17. One longitudinal side and at least a part of the whole of an adjacent side in the separation zone of the strip may be weakened to allow when the strip is rendered, the pane to be slid out of the strip.
