Abstract
1,012,415. Carrier bags. J. H. VINEBERG. Oct. 7, 1963 [Dec. 3, 1962], No. 39355/63. Heading A4G. A blank comprising two identical halves 15 with hand-holes and locking flaps 16 on either side of a fold 14 or a wider intermediate portion, is passed through one of a pair of aligned slits 18 near the mouth of the bag, the outer half being secured to the bag wall. To close the bag, the inner half is passed through the slit in the other bag wall as in Fig. 2. If the slits are lower down the walls, the bag mouth may be closed by folding the edges on themselves which are then enclosed between the two handle halves and wider intermediate portion. The outer edges of the bag mouth may be closed by snap fasteners or string tied through holes, or by folding in the edges. The blank may be free to be passed through the slits when the bag is used.
