Abstract

A device for supervising thread travel on textile machines has a tubular, dust free housing 10 in which are arranged blocking members 8 connected to exploring members 2 which are normally held by threads 1 but when a thread is not supplied, the corresponding exploring member 2 pivots its blocking member 8 so as to fill the interval crosssection of the housing, into a path between a source of energy 5 and an energy detector 7 to generate a signal in the latter. As shown in Fig 1 a source of light 5 and a photo-cell 7 are used: alternatively compressed air (Fig 4 not shown) may be used with an air pressure or air velocity detector to generate an electric signal. The signal produced may be used to actuate an optical or acoustic warning device or to trip a control function possibly to stop the machine.
