Abstract
1,011,833. Projection screws. H.RIEDEL. July 23, 1962, No. 17757/65. Divided out of 1, 002, 065. Heading G2J. A fabric, roll-up projection screen has an upper and a lower pocket each slid over a respective roller screen tube and may be tensioned vertically and horizontally. Stand mounted screen 82 is tensioned by pulling lower tube assembly 71 downwards by handles 97 whereby upper tube 87 rotates in bearings 75, 107 against torsion spring 73 on core rod 72. Tube 102 is then resiliently engaged by projections 98 of bracket 90 slidably attached to the end of arm 118 pivoted at plastics hinge 111 to carrier ring 93 on column 96, member 97 on arm 118 engaging sliding setting ring 95<SP>1</SP>. Screw 100 adjusts the vertical tensioning of screen 82. Knobs 80 is turned to adjust the torsion in spring 73 to which it is pinned through sleeve 79 and locked by setscrew 81. The upper screen pocket enters the annular space between concentric tubes 87, 88, tube 87 having a longitudinal slot to receive the screen 82. The lower pocket surrounds tube 92. Sleeves 74,106 rigidly hold tube 87 and are held by forks on a carrier beam 76 releasably attached through pins 94 to shackle 95 on column 96. Under tension the screen strains the tubes 87, 92 inwardly at 116 and its vertical edges are thereby tensioned. Fold-up plastics feet are provided for the stand. Ends 133 of assembly 71 enter spring shackles 134 when the screen is rolled up; the screen is then removed from pins 94 and stored inside column 96.
