In a braking system which is operated by a liquid-pressure medium supplied by a pressure medium source connected to port 5 for power assistance and which has multiple brake circuits, the pressure medium from a master cylinder 4 coerces the control pistons 10 of the brake valves 7, to allow the pressure medium source to communicate with the brake cylinders connected to port 19, and a plunger 29 spring-cushioned in a housing 1. The plunger which may be biased by an air cushion may be disposed in a housing connected through a pipe to the master cylinder chamber 32. When the brakes are in the released position the chamber 32 communicates with the passage 3 connected to the system reservoir connection 6 via clearance 43, Fig. 3, between the plunger 30 and the rod 31, and the gap 44 in a circlip 42. The connection between the reservoir and the chamber 32 is interrupted on operation of the brakes by a gasket 45 which engages the plunger 30. The operation of the brake valve 7 is fully described in Specification 1,011,526.
