A mitre clamp comprises a base-plate 1 having a fixed jaw component which is adjustable on the plate 1 and is provided with jaw faces at an angle to each other and movable jaw components 10 mounted for independent movement towards and from the angled surfaces 5, 5<SP>1</SP> of the fixed jaw component, operation of the jaws being effected by cam levers 14, 14<SP>1</SP>. Each block 10 is mounted on one end of a plunger 11 which is slidably mounted on a bracket 12 against the action of a compression spring 20. The outer ends of the plungers 11 are provided with hardened heads 13 for engagement with cams 14, 14<SP>1</SP> which are capable of angular displacement about pivots 18 by which they are secured to the base.
