Abstract

1,008,770. Gas cooker hotplates. RADIATION Ltd. May 28, 1963 [July 31, 1962], No. 29447/62. Heading F4W. A gas cooker hot-plate member comprises at least two sheetmetal plates 1, 2 welded together, at least one sheet being pressed so that in co-operation with another sheet burner shanks 3 are formed, each shank having an outlet port 5 for receiving readily movable burner means. The burner means comprises a pressed cap 9, having flame parts 10 as disclosed in Specification 881,770, spring-fitted over a support 11 secured to spigoted die-cast member 7 and sealed at 12. The spigoted member 7 is located in the diecast port 5 by key 8 fitting in keyway 6. Alternatively, the outlet ports 5 may be integrally-formed in the upper sheet. A flanged metal pressing 13 is spring-fitted in the inlet end of each shank 3 and an adjustable air feed is formed by co-operating arcuate slots in this member and an end cap 14. Plateaux 19 in the vicinity of each burner head may be flanged to collect spillage not caught by a main spillage tray. Sheet 1 ma be further contoured at 4 to increase its rigidity.
