Abstract

1,006,655. Measuring temperature electrically. SUPERHEATER CO. Ltd. June 14, 1962 [June 20,1961], No. 22285/61. Heading G1N. Apparatus for measuring the temperature of a fluid flowing in a pipe 1 comprises a temperature sensitive device 4, e.g. a thermocouple, in a tube 5 mounted in a rigid support 2 welded to the pipe 1 at 6, which contains slots 10,11 through which the test fluid passes. The areas of contact 7, 8 between the tube 5 and the support 2 are formed as threads to minimise direct heat conduction, and the temperature sensitive element is located between the portions 7, 8. In some applications the lower portion 8 may be dispensed wity the support 2 terminated at 7. Specification 865,017 is referred to.
