Abstract

1,005,997. Filing papers. TWINLOCK Ltd. Aug. 14, 1964 [Dec. 2, 1963], No. 47497/63. Heading B6E. A loose-leaf binder has two covers 1, 2 each comprising two separate superposed stiff plastics sheets which are joined together at their periphery 3, and at least a portion of at least one of the sheets is concave so that a cavity is formed between the two sheets. The sheets may be of thermoplastic material, such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, joined together at the periphery 3 by metallic edging strips. In the thong binder shown, the back cover 2 comprises a back sheet 4 (not shown) which is concaved inwardly to define, with an inner sheet 6, a cavity in which the thong adjusting mechanism is accommodated. The inner sheet 6 has planar marginal portions, a central depression 7, and two apertures 8 which provide access to the catch releases 10 of the slide bar 17 of the thong mechanism. The front sheet of the front cover 1 is similar to the back sheet of the cover 2, and the inner sheet 11 is generally planar but formed with depressions 12 for strengthening purposes or to accommodate pencils. Both outer sheets of the covers are outwardly convex at adjacent edges to provide slits for the thongs 14. The usual clamping bars 19 are provided.
