Abstract

1,005,529. Juice extractors. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Aug. 28, 1964 [Sept. 4, 1963], No. 35293/64. Heading A4C. A fruit juice extractor comprises a oantrifuge basket having a perforated wall 2 which is flared with a continuous outward curve, preferably parabolic, from near the imperforate basket base 1 to the top of the basket and includes an abrasive disc 6 which is adjustable in height above the base 1 of the basket. A horizontal rim 2A at the basket top has a strengthening ring 3 secured thereto. The spacing between the base 1 and disc 6 is determined by the selective fitment of a spacer collar 5. In operation, fruit fed through an opening 12 in the cover 8 for a casing 7 is broken up on the rotary abrasive disc 6 and flung outwardly to the wall 2, juice passing through the wall 2 and to a drain funnel 9 in the casing 7 and solid residue passing up the wall 2 to an ejection opening 11 in the cover 8.
