Abstract

1,245,869. Electrically driven fruit juice extractors. SIEMENS-ELECTROGERATE G.m.b.H. March 4, 1969 [March 6, 1968], No. 11498/69. Heading A4C. A juice extractor for citrus fruit comprises an electric motor rotating a fruit reamer 5 projecting from and served to a base-plate 6 and disposed in a juice catching dish 4 surrounding a lower rim of the plate 6 and separated from said rim by a small gap 9, a juice discharge spout 10 mounted on the side of dish 4 below the plate 6, and a pip catching member 11 opening into the dish 4 through the side thereof. The reamer 5 has at least two and preferably three upwardly projecting ribs 7 with rounded surfaces (8), Fig. 2 (not shown), so that the pulp is not removed from the fruit shell by sharp edges, the reaner being fitted on a shaft 2 energing from a generally vertical housing 1 containing an electric motor and gearing connected to shaft 2. The member 11 and spout 10 are integral with dish 4 which is secured on a sleeve 3 on the housing 1 and surrounding the shaft 2, member 11 being located above spout 10 and any juice collected in member 11 passing therefrom through an aperture 12.
