Abstract

1,004,220. Locks. ADAMS RITE MANUFACTURING CO. Oct. 31, 1963 [Dec. 3, 1962], No. 42998/63. Heading E2A. Burglar proof shielding means for a door lock cylinder unit 20 mounted in an opening 28 in a wall 11 of a tubular stile 10 of a door assembly, comprises an outer casing structure adapted to be positioned and secured in the wall opening surrounding the lock cylinder, the structure having inner end means 30 forming a flange 32 to radially extend over and abut the inner surface of the wall 11 bordering the opening, and an outer cylindrical end 34 of tough hardened material extending beyond the outer surface of the wall 11 and closely surrounding the outermost end 20 of the lock cylinder when the cylinder is mounted in an operative position with its outermost end inwardly recessed with respect to the outer cylindrical end 34 of the casing structure. As shown, the casing structure includes a threaded sleeve 30 on which the end 34 is secured by a ring nut 40.
