Abstract
100,369. Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon. April 28, 1915, [Convention date]. Motor power plant.-Relates to multi-stage turbine installations for driving electric generators, wherein the stages are distributed over two or more shafts and so connected that the motive fluid is distributed in parallel as soon as the highest economical admissible vane-length has been attained, and the individual output of each shaft is the same. The high-pressure turbine K of the first unit I, Fig. 3, discharges into a medium-pressure stage M of the second unit II, and when the vane-length has reached its maximum limit, the exhaust from this stage is led in parallel to the low-pressure stages N, 0 of the second unit II and to the low-pressure stage L of the first unit I. The stage L may be dispensed with, and the medium-pressure stage M may be omitted. In a three-shaft installation, Fig. 5, the working fluid, after passing in series through the stages P, Q, is led in parallel through the stages R, S and again subdivided for parallel supply to the stages T, V, W, U, X. The stage X may be dispensed with.
