Abstract

1,003,618. Injectors. MITSUBISHI SHIPBUILDING & ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Oct. 29, 1963 [Oct. 30, 1962], No. 42672/63. Heading F1E. [Also in Division F4] ' In operation of a forced flow, once through steam generator below a predetermined value of load some water is driven through a recirculation circuit connected across furnace wall tubes 3 to increase the velocity of water passing through said tubes to prevent their burning, the water being driven round the circuit by a plurality of ejector stages in which stages water from pump 1 is forced through nozzles 9, 10. In the embodiment valves 12, 13 are responsive to the load conditions and may be selectively operable. The recirculating circuit is operative during starting and stopping conditions when the load is below a predetermined fraction of the maximum load, e.g. 30 %. On starting, once through water giving 10 % load and recirculating water giving 20 % load are used and the control valves 12, 13 actuated to obtain a hot start giving 5 % of maximum load. The ejector stages may be arranged in series (as shown) or parallel.
