Abstract

1,003,522. Binding posts. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Dec. 21 1961 [Dec. 30 1960] No. 45790/61. Heading H2E. A connector comprises a compressible helical spring 11 having a neck 12 at an end adapted to be mounted on to a mounting board 14 and a separate or integral post member 16 having a looped apex 17 adapted to extend inside spring 11 in a position whereby apex 17 is exposed for the insertion of a connector wire when spring 11 is compressed, neck 12 having a smaller diameter than the remainder of spring 11 and post 16 having an elongated loop with at least one side of the loop provided with an outwardly extending shoulder 18, 19 to engage the inside of spring 11 at a region beyond neck 12. The opposite end of the loop from the apex 17 has a pair of legs 23, 24 extending laterally in opposite directions and engaging the underside of board 14. Spring 11 and post 16 may be of non-conductive material for applications in which several conductors are to be inserted for connection together.
