Abstract
1,003,295. Valves. WESTINGHOUSE BREMSEM-GESELLSCHAFT. Aug. 23, 1962 [Aug. 25, 1961], No. 32384/62. Heading F2V. A compressor plate valve embodies a member 1, Fig. 1, with an annular channel 4 having inwardly inclined walls, and recesses 5, forming radial arms 9, Fig. 2, opening into the channel 4. The spring-loaded valve plate 13 has a central opening and in the closed position seats across the channel 4 as shown. Beneath the plate 13 is a retainer 11. The valve is positioned by a holder 14 with an aerodrynamically contoured extension 15. The arrangement provides for a change of air flow from horizontal to vertical in a manner offering the minimum resistance to flow.
