Abstract

1,002,969. Dynamo-electric machines. COMPAGNIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE. March 6, 1964 [March 11, 1963], No. 9608/64. Heading H2A. A D.C. dynamotor comprises motor and generator flat armature windings 13, 14 arranged to rotate in a planar air gap and associated with a common excitation field. The windings comprise spiral flat laminar conductors 15, 16 respectively engaged by brushes 18, 19 and stuck, with interposed insulator 17, to a rotatable soft ferrite or spirally rolled magnetic sheet backing yoke plate 11 fixed to a shaft 9 carried in bearings 10. The generator brushes 19 are borne by a ring 20 which is movable under a manual, mechanical or electrical control to regulate the generator voltage U 2 which is added to or subtracted from the fixed voltage U 1 applied to the motor M. The field is created by a ring of equidistant permanent magnets 7, a hard ferrite torus, or an induction winding. In another embodiment, not shown, the field is created by two members, carrying respective brushes, on respective sides of the armature. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 933,447.
